Sometimes your Chromebook just needs a little “spring cleaning” to get it running smoothly again. Clearing your browsing data is a great first step if websites are loading slowly or acting a bit quirky.
Here is the quickest way to freshen up your browser:
🧹 How to Clear Your Chromebook Browsing Data
1. The Keyboard Shortcut (The “Fast Pass”)
The absolute quickest way to get to the right screen is to open Chrome and press: [CTRL] + [SHIFT] + [BACKSPACE]
2. The Manual Way
If you prefer using your mouse, follow these simple steps:
- Open Chrome.
- Click the Three Dots (⋮) in the top-right corner.
- Click Delete Browsing Data (or go to Settings > Privacy and security > Delete browsing data).
3. Choosing Your Settings
A window will pop up with a few choices. For the best “deep clean,” we recommend:
- Time Range: Select All time. (This ensures no old glitches are left behind!)
- Check these three boxes:
- Browsing history
- Cookies and other site data
- Cached images and files
- Click “Delete data.”
Note: You might need to sign back into a few of your favorite websites after doing this, but your Chromebook will thank you for the extra breathing room!
